Chinese Beef

Ingredients:  

  • 1 lb ground beef  

  • 1 tsp sugar  

  • 1 small can mushrooms (optional)  

  • 1 small onion (diced) or 2 tsp onion flakes  

  • 1 can French style green beans  

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch  

  • 1 cup water  

  • ¼ to ½ cup soy sauce  


Instructions:  

1. In a frying pan, add sugar and caramelize over medium heat.  

2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned.  

3. Add the mushrooms, onions, and green beans to the pan.  

4. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water and soy sauce.  

5. Pour the mixture into the beef and vegetable mixture. Stir to combine.  

6. Lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes. Add more water and soy sauce to taste.  

7. Serve over rice, Chow Mein noodles, or regular noodles. Garnish with cashews for extra flavor.
