OUR MISSION

To provide food, with respect and dignity, in times of need to those in the River Falls community.

WHO DO WE SERVE?

We serve any person in need of food that lives within Pierce or St. Croix County. Each family may come twice a month for groceries, plus an additional weekly visit during which they may pick up extra bread and produce. We serve approximately 600 families and distribute more than 35,000 pounds of food monthly.

HOW MANY ARE SERVED?

River Falls Community Food Pantry is a private, non-profit, volunteer organization that serves over 2,000 households in the River Falls area. In 2023, the Pantry had 5,279 visits, and the need continues to grow!

Our History

The River Falls Community Food Pantry has grown from humble beginnings to become a cornerstone of support in our community. Starting in the 1980s in a tiny closet at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, a handful of passionate volunteers answered calls for help, meeting people one-on-one to provide food.

By 2006, rising demand prompted a transformation. We introduced open-door hours, including evenings and weekends, and quickly outgrew our space, expanding into classrooms and closets. Partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank helped us meet the growing need, and by 2010, we moved to a rented space on North Main Street.

Recognizing the need for a permanent home, the Board of Directors launched a bold vision in 2017. After evaluating options, we purchased land and, in 2019, proudly opened our current facility at 705 St. Croix Street.

Today, powered by over 40 active volunteers, we are the largest food pantry in Pierce and St. Croix Counties—and one of the largest in Western Wisconsin. Together, we stock shelves, drive food pick-ups, unload deliveries, and serve neighbors in need, making a tangible impact every day.
