From the Pantry Shelf: October 2024

Note From Executive Director

Have you ever gone to bed hungry? Have you ever skipped a meal so your children would have enough to eat? Or have you sent your child to school without lunch pretending to have forgotten when really you didn’t have any food? Many people in our community are in this situation. 1 in 6 children and 1 in 14 seniors are at risk of hunger in Wisconsin. These numbers are reflected in the record breaking numbers of new households who we see per month.  Expenses in providing food are exceeding donations by 5 to 1.

Luckily, the River Falls Community Food Pantry is here to help those in need and has been for over 25 years. Our mission is to provide food, with respect and dignity, in times of need to those in the River Falls Community. Donations have drastically decreased while new families are seeking assistance and we need your help to keep our doors open. Please consider a monetary donation to assist in our mission to End Hunger in River Falls.

Donor Spotlight

They made a generous donation of sweet corn to our food pantry! During their visit, we provided a tour and shared insights about our mission and services. Their enthusiasm for supporting our cause has led them to set up a donation stand for non-perishables and fresh produce at their farm stand. Apple Tree Farm has truly become a fantastic advocate for our community, and we’re grateful for their support.
